Donna Johnson

Donna Maybelle Johnson was born August 26, 1935 in Battle Creek, Michigan to parents Floyd and Gladys Latta. She passed away on September 24, 2022, in Plano Texas.

Donna attended Argubright Business College in Battle Creek following high school and married Loren Johnson in 1961. They raised two amazing children while living in Battle Creek, Michigan, and Morton Illinois. She was the President of the Christian Business Women’s Association in Battle Creek.

The whole family moved to Morton, Illinois where they stayed for many years. Loren and Donna moved to Plano, Texas in the 80’s for employment opportunities.

Donna’s professional career was spent in service to the church in administrative roles. She retired in 2000. Donna and Loren attended Fellowship Bible Church North (Chase Oaks) and formed unique friendships that lasted a lifetime. She loved going on trips and spending time with this group of friends.  As they moved to Bent tree Fellowship Bible Church they met new friends and enjoyed game nights, many meals together, and traveling on many adventures. Tuesday morning Bible Study was a special time of fellowship for her with many close women.

Donna enjoyed reading, traveling, serving the local church, having lunch with friends, and listening to Christian music. Being a nanny was her passion and she never missed a baseball game, band performance, theater play, or any other event for her local grandchildren David and Andrew.

They traveled to Virginia often to spend time with her son’s family and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She could often be found on the back porch reading her Bible and feeding the bunnies. Donna left a mark on everyone she knew and will be greatly missed.

Donna is survived by her husband Loren, her children, Jeff Johnson and his wife Tammy, Julie Woodward and her husband Wayne; grandchildren include Justin, Samantha, Ranee-Jo, David, and Andrew; greatgrandchildren include Kaiden, Avery, Alaina, and Nolan; also surviving is Donna's sister Janet Burch and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Donna’s life will be held Monday, October 3, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Bent Tree Bible Fellowship’s chapel, 4141 International Parkway, Carrollton, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made in Donna’s name to Bent Tree Bible Fellowship Church.
