Donald Leroy Welsh

Donald L. Welsh was born August 26, 1962 to Thomas and Judith Welsh (Persinger) in Sioux City, Iowa.  He graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in Sioux City, Iowa.  Don continued his education throughout his life, most recently attending Wharton Business School at The University of Pennsylvania.  Don moved to Tampa, Florida where he worked for Scan Design Furniture.  While there he won a trip to Denmark resulting from outstanding sales.  Later Don worked for MBNA in Wilmington, Delaware.  He then moved to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania where he worked for Integrated Marketing.  He married Patty Corbo in 2001.  Patty passed away in 2012.  Don later moved to McKinney, Texas.  He worked at Harley-Davidson Headquarters in Plano, Texas as a Credit Analyst until his illness forced him to resign in 2020.

Don loved all things sports but was truly passionate about his two favorite teams, the New York Giants and New York Yankees.  He was a voracious reader, loved to fish wherever he could and was an amazing chef that truly enjoyed cooking.

Left behind to cherish Don’s memory are his mother, Judy Welsh, sister, Jeanne Axelrod, niece, Keleigh Axelrod, half-brother, Mark Coniglio, aunt,Janet Schones, step children Bobby Pienta, Joey Corbo, Michelle Pienta, and step grandson, Dylan Welsh Pienta.  Don also leaves behind cousins and special friends.  He was predeceased by his father, Tom Welsh and wife, Patty.
