He grew up in Perry, Iowa with five brothers and two sisters. He attended Perry High School where he lettered in football. Also, he was on the wrestling team and was 6th in the state in his weight class.
In 1970 Don married Diane Ebrecht. Together they had two children, Jackie and Bill.
After high school Don went into business for himself operating a gas station and working on cars. It wasn’t Long before he built an auto mechanic shop. In 1986 Don bought a Snap-on Tool franchise and moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico. He eventually bought two more franchises and operated them until 2003.
In 2003 they moved to Plano, Texas to be closer to their grandchildren. He loved to go four-wheeling and camping in Colorado. He enjoyed fishing in Canada. He loved God, prayed the rosary daily and remained faithful to his Catholic roots.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Diane and son Bill; grandson Alex and granddaughter Skye; son-in-law Jeff, brothers James Glass (Karl), Peter Glass (Juanita), Steve Glass (Sara), Daniel Glass (Fay); sisters Julie Gerboth (Bruce) and Mary Sheldahl (Eric) and many nieces and nephews who loved him very much.
Don is preceded in death by his parents James and Marie Glass, his daughter, Jacqueline Millaway and his brother Dennis Glass.
There will be a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 25, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas. For those who cannot attend, the service will be broadcast live at: https://www.youtube.com/live/-nsCgcFHD24
There will be a reception immediately following the mass.
