Don Elliott

Marion Donald Elliott was born September 29, 1930 in Binger, Oklahoma to parents Monroe and Ruby (Hooker) Elliott. Don attended first through twelfth grades in a small school in Oney, Oklahoma and attended one year of college. He married Jo Kathryn Mason on September 13, 1947. He then served his country for four years in the Air Force.

Don loved to fly and obtained his single engine private pilot’s license and flew for pleasure every chance he got. He worked in the automobile industry and as a home builder. He was a member of Hunter’s Glen Baptist Church and his life’s passion was to sing.

Don is survived by his loving wife Jo Kathryn Elliott, son Gary Don Elliott, daughter Sandra Elliott Reynolds, siblings Karen Swanda and her husband Joe, Donald Wright and his wife Roberta and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dobbs and Derwin Elliott, sisters-in-law Kay Elliott and Betty Ann Wright, niece Sherry Covey and his beloved grandson Jerry (BJ) Reynolds II.

In addition, the family would like to thank the many caregivers who fought so hard to save him. He will be desperately missed by many, but if he were here, he’d tell us to be strong and not shed any tears.

The family will receive friends for a visitation Monday, August 6, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Allen Family Funeral Options, Plano, Texas. The funeral service to celebrate Don’s life will be at 11:00 A.M., immediately following the visitation.

Don will be laid to rest at 1:00 P.M. at the Dallas Ft Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas
