Don and Kathy’s story together began as high school sweethearts, and they carried their love throughout college before marrying on September 10, 1966. They were just shy of celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary before Kathy’s passing. They enjoyed decades of friendship with a close-knit group, sharing gourmet recipes and fine wines. These people meant the world to them. The highlight of the year was their famous Kentucky Derby Party! Always active and involved, they played tennis as members of Willow Bend Polo and Hunt Club, and Gleneagles Country Club. They also loved road trips to the beach with family, and meeting up with friends at one of their favorite destinations, their timeshare in Saint Maarten. It’s always 5 O’clock somewhere!
Don and Kathy are survived by their daughters Paige Northen and her husband Cody of McKinney, Texas, Dianna Yonts of Lafayette, Indiana; their seven loving grandchildren; brother-in-law Don Adams of Brookfield, Wisconsin, nieces, and their extended family and many dear friends.
