Dolores E. Cahn (née Fogarty), 91, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2021 in her home at Atria Canyon Creek, Plano, Texas. Born Dec 21, 1921 in Jersey City, New Jersey, she grew up in New York City, started her family in Flushing and Rosedale, New York, lived 38 years in West Hempstead, New York raising her family and being active in the community before spending 20 wonderful retirement years in Palm City, Florida. She moved to Plano in 2015 and made some cherished new friends.
She met her husband William (Bill) on a blind date at the age of 19. Against all odds, being of different religious faiths, they married in 1951. They had a loving, compassionate 65-year marriage before Bill passed on shortly after that milestone anniversary.
She touched all that she met. She would regale them with stories, make them laugh, and encourage them to live their best life. She would tell you that her life was full surrounded by family and special friends. She would say she had “no regrets.”
Family was the most important part of her life as witnessed by the gallery of family pictures in her apartment. She would stop by each photo and talk to each and every one of them.
Dolores is preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She is survived by her three children—Barbara Cahn, David Cahn and his wife Trish Cahn, and Andrew Cahn and his wife Debra Cahn. She is survived by her four grandchildren—Kristina Munoz and her husband Ivan Munoz, Kevin Cahn, Alison Edwards and her husband Zack Edwards, and Derek Cahn as well as her two step grandchildren—Shannon Gray and Bobby Gray. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren—Miles and Brielle Efre and Sebastian and Christopher Munoz. She was loved dearly and will be sorely missed.
