Debra Ruth Stephens

March 22, 1955 — September 25, 2019

Debra Ruth (Eaton) Stephens was born March 22, 1955 in Indianapolis, Indiana to parents Robert and Mary (Jack) Eaton.

She graduated from Sahuaro High School in Tucson, Arizona in 1973 and then attended Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. Debbie began her career with Braniff Airlines for 4 years then signed on with American Airlines which became her home away from home for 36 years; which led to many special accommodations.

Debbie loved her job and often took on extra flights; she loved her flight crew and her passengers. She had outer as well as inner beauty and her light shined to everyone she met and served. She lit up a room when entering, always impeccably dressed and smiling. She loved walking her dog Maddie and jogging with Kelly through the neighborhood. She loved shopping and decorating her home; inside and out. The welcome mat was always out.

Our precious Debbie is soaring higher than any aircraft could take her as she rests with her Heavenly Father. The angels came for her on September 25, 2019. She was an adored wife, flight attendant, party hostess and stunning beauty.
Debbie’s passing leaves a hole in our hearts, but she knew her Lord and we are confident of her place on the other side. She will be forever missed but present in our hearts.

Debbie is survived by her loving husband, constant companion and best friend of 29 years, Kelly Stephens whom she adored; her best dog Maddie as well as an endless number of flight attendant friends and amazing neighbors who were not just neighbors but ever present in times of need with ready support and love. She is also survived by her brother Rob Eaton and his children Emily and Ryan Eaton, her brother Charles Pope and his wife Chris, and Kelly & Debbie’s Goddaughter, Kelly Peebles. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, John Pope and Larry Pope.

An Evening of Remembrance with a reception will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 6:00-7:30 P.M. at Allen Family Funeral Options with words of remembrance being spoken at 6:30 P.M.
