David (Dave) Wayne Wolf, age 56, passed away at home in Frisco, Texas on October 12, 2025, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 1, 1969, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Larry W. and Pearl E. (Eiserle) Wolf, Dave went to Troy Athens High School in Troy, Michigan, and Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana (B.S. in Public Affairs).
Moving to Texas in 1992, Dave had a successful career as a stockbroker before he found his calling as a dog’s best friend with his dog-sitting business. An avid Hoosiers fan, he loved attending IU football games with his SAE fraternity brothers. Dave was most content when he was taking care of dogs and hanging out with life-long friends from school, work and his neighborhood, playing golf, fishing, going to 80’s band concerts, soaking in his hot tub and watching a variety of programs including sports, history, science fiction and cartoons.
Dave could make friends with anyone within minutes. His ability to start an engaging conversation, often sharing personal stories or citing sports stats, Dave drew people in. Once a friend, always a friend, Dave’s network continued to grow from childhood to adulthood. His friends and family from coast to coast became an amazing support group cheering him on throughout his cancer journey. His resilience, determination and unbreakable spirit, in turn, lifted others, including others battling cancer.
Dave is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, his sister Sandra L. Rapp (Douglas) (OH) and nephew, Christopher D. Rapp (NC). Dave’s family extends heartfelt thanks to all his caring family and friends and their pets.
A memorial to celebrate Dave’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Allen Family Funeral Options. Family will receive friends and family prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
In lieu of gifts, please consider a donation in Dave’s name to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital at: https://www.stjude.org/donate, the V Foundation for Cancer Research at: https://www.v.org/ or a local dog rescue organization or shelter.
