I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7
Welcome home, my good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of the Lord. Matthew 25:21
David Womack Stroman, PhD. was born June 1, 1944 in Corpus Christi, Texas to parents Henry Womack and Rose Ellen (Cloud) Stroman.
David and Janice Mae Cook met at the Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma in October of 1964. Janice accepted an invitation for their first date, which was a hayride, and this began their relationship 57 years ago. They were married December 21, 1965 during their Christmas college break. Jan had always dreamed of a Christmas wedding.
Four years later, their son David Lynn was born on December 9, 1969. Since he was their gift from Jesus, they placed him under their simple Christmas tree and took pictures to celebrate. The thing that David has cherished most about his dad was his unwavering faith in Christ and the three words that describe his father throughout his entire life were Selflessness, Patience and Love. He displayed this over and over again.
David is known worldwide as being an expert in microbiology, infectious diseases, and product development. Having conducted clinical studies worldwide for both the eyes and ears has given him opportunity to structure and develop various medicines and treatments for the eyes and ears. David’s name is synonymous with Alcon’s leading drug Vigamox and Novabay’s AVENOVA. Among some of his work relationships is a name most of us know, Jonas Salk.
Dr. Stroman has written and published a multitude of research papers with top scientists both here in the US and throughout the world that relate to infectious disease and its possible cures.
Dr. David Stroman is known by many people, both relatives, friends, and co-workers. One quality always attributed to David is his good humor and ability to bring a smile to anyone he met. This was a gift given to him from God.
What David though would most want to be remembered about himself is his great faith and love for Jesus Christ. Most recently in one of his sickest times, his wife was helping him eat and he stopped her before she put the food into his mouth. He then said a short blessing of thankfulness for the food…and he really meant what he prayed.
David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend to all. He was a man with a heart like God and he never was embarrassed or shy about giving Jesus all credit and honor for everyone and anything in his life.
The world has lost a faithful, brilliant, and kindest of men…. but Heaven has welcomed a mighty warrior for Jesus. Now the One David loves most will look into his eyes and say, “Welcome home, my good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of the Lord.” (Matthew 25:21)
David lived this JOY that he is now experiencing to the fullest. He put Jesus first, others next, and himself last… always. He had a “joy unspeakable and full of glory.
