David Scott Sauber, 73, passed away on August 13, 2021 in Dallas, Texas where he lived with his wife and daughter. He was born on February 19, 1948 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to father David Alguire and mother Dorothy Skotvold.
At the age of 17, David joined the U.S. military. During the Vietnam war, he served as a hospital corpsman at the U.S. Naval Station in San Diego. After the service, in 1973, he obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, from the Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles. He was a member of the honor society of Alpha Sigma Nu and received a Presidential Citation Award for Service to the Community. In 1978, he earned a Medical Doctorate (M.D.) degree from the University of Southern California (USC). In 1979, he completed his Psychiatric Residency program from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Throughout the rest of his life, David remained a loyal fan and supporter of both his alma maters, USC and UCLA.
During his life, David established several businesses, including the first magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) center in the U.S. which he dedicated to Robert F. Kennedy as well as Nutritional Biological Corporation “Nutri-Bio”.
In the second half of his life, David pursued his passion for space exploration history and memorabilia. He lived in Moscow, Russia from 1991 until 2006. While in Russia, David interviewed numerous Russian cosmonauts, scientists and engineers, wrote and published their stories, collected space memorabilia and produced movies. He was a space memorabilia exhibitor, collector and consultant and proudly served for 18 years on the Board of Aerospace Historical Society in Los Angeles from 1986 until 2004.
David was an amazing, generous, faithful and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, friend and brother in Messiah. He was committed and dedicated to God, his country and to his family.
Left to cherish David’s memory are his wife, Elena Petrovna Sauber; daughter, Shirley Luv Sauber; son, Kristopher James Wolfe; brother, William Sauber; sister, Catherine Sauber, his three nephews, Robert Sauber, Dominick Lanni and Christian Lanni, and numerous other family and friends who will all miss David greatly.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to Beth Sar Shalom (Messianic congregation in Carrollton, Texas) or to Dr. Robert Mawire’s Ministry (WRNO Worldwide Radio) in Bedford, Texas.
