David Garcia Martinez, 49, passed away on September 28, 2026.

David was born on November 28, 1976, in Elda, Spain. He graduated from Oxford University in 2003, and the following year, on April 10, 2004, he married the love of his life, Lucero Vasquez Chacon. In 2011, David and Lucero moved to Texas, which became their home. In 2025, David proudly became a United States citizen, an achievement he cherished deeply.

An advanced and avid chess player, David helped found an online chess academy, giving others the chance to learn and grow in the game he loved. At home, he was devoted to his pets, who brought him endless joy.

David is survived by his wife, Lucero; their beloved dogs, Lupis and Lila; and their cats, Gusi and Bambu.
