David Jones

Ronald David Jones, Jr. was born April 19, 1971, in Dallas, Texas to parents Ronald and Pamela (Lowe) Jones, Sr.

David’s story is too short but filled with joy and accomplishments. He lived in Plano for most of his life. Growing up, he loved playing baseball and soccer (coached by his dad). He also spent many fun times with his grandparents. In high school, David was an active part of the debate team when he was not hanging out with friends. Three of his friends, Mike, Steve, and Matt, continued to be a treasured part of his life till the end. After high school, David went to the University of North Texas graduating with a degree in marketing. Later he went on to receive his M.B.A from Southern Methodist University. An amazing work ethic was one of David’s best traits. David worked in electronic sales throughout his career. Always striving to do his best, he took pride in knowing that his work helped create manufacturing jobs.

Family was the center of David’s life. In 1996, Dave married his soulmate, Cynthia. They had a wonderful 26-year marriage. Dave was the most uplifting and supportive husband, and their marriage reflected their undying love. David’s pride and joy were his daughters, Hannah and Samantha. They were blessed to have the most loving and involved father. Over the years, David immersed himself in whatever activity his girls participated in at the time. Dave coached various sports, was in Daddy/Daughter dances at the Eisemann Center, went to Anime conventions, and became an extremely active part of the A team that runs the youth activities for their church. He poured countless acts of love into their life. His favorite place to be was playing a board game with his girls at home. David had two furry children, Zoey and Delilah, who were always by his side. David’s church family, Christ United Methodist, was an integral part of who he was. The youth lovingly called him, DJ.

Finally, David’s closest family lived close by. He was a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, and uncle. Whether it was game night, hockey game, or a good meal, David loved spending time with his family. No words are sufficient to say how much Dave will be missed, and how much he continues to be loved by so many. We can only look towards the time when we are reunited in heaven.

David is survived by his loving wife Cynthia Jones, daughters Hannah and Samantha Jones, parents Ronald and Pamela Jones, Sr., sister Jennifer Militello and her husband Tony, nephew and niece Peyton and Mia Militello and many loving additional family and friends.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate David’s life on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 3101 Coit Rd., Plano, Texas and officiated by Rev Chris Dowd and Rev. Stephanie Reed-Meyer.

To honor David, it is the request of the family that everyone who attends the service, to please wear a “fun” t-shirt (of any type) and fun socks.

David will be laid to rest at the Christ United Methodist Church Columbarium.
