David Jay Wells

October 11, 1969 — July 7, 2020

On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, David Wells, loving husband, and father of two children, passed away at the age of 50.

David was born on October 11, 1969 in Dallas, Texas to Chester Wells and Janet Wells Autrand. He received his High School Diploma from Lakeview Centennial in Dallas in 1987. He then went on to become a night club DJ. After years of success he found himself cohosting a talk show for 105.3 FM based around the night life in DFW. In 2011, his dream of owning a nightclub was realized when he and his wife Brooke opened their first nightclub and another shortly thereafter. In the last few years, he had left the industry to spend more time with his family.

David had a real passion for music which is what led him to his DJ career. When David was younger, he sang in many small bands around Dallas. He also loved golfing, bowling, and spending time at the beach with family and friends. He was adventurous, loved people and making memories that will last a lifetime. His favorite place to be was with his family and friends in Jamaica. A true connoisseur of life, David’s ability to live life to the fullest was not only admired and envied but it was infectious to anyone blessed enough to be around him.

Devoted husband to Brooke Davis-Wells and father to Kailynn and Grayson, and a true and faithful friend to countless many.   His life and legacy of selfless care to his family, friends and acquaintances has forever imprinted each one with his limitless smile and bigger than life personality. Those who met him will never forget him. Those who knew him will never be the same without him.

David is preceded in death by his grandfather’s Marion Wells and Hershel Locke and his grandmothers Mildred Locke and Marjorie Wells. He is survived by his father Chester and Mother Janet. Wife, Brooke and his two children Kailynn and Grayson. His brother Jason, sisters Sunny and Dolly and several cousins, nieces, and nephews and many close friends.

Services will be private.

“Your life was a blessing. Your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.” -Elizabeth Sanders
