Darren Lee Wicker

Darren Wicker, age 60, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 29, 2019.  Darren was born on November 24, 1958 in Dallas to parents Dan and Emillee Wicker.  The family moved to Richardson when he was four months old and he lived there most of his adult life.  He graduated from J.J. Pearce High School in 1977. Darren played football at Pearce and Henderson State University in Arkansas. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business in 1981 from North Texas University.

Darren spent his free time doing any and everything outdoors - Hunting, fishing and tinkering on projects in his garage. Come September 1st during his free time he was hard to find because it was dove season followed by deer and water fowl seasons. A lot of his hunting time was spent with long time friends at The Promise Land Ranch near Throckmorton, Texas.

Everyone will tell you that you could count on Darren for anything. His humor was unmatched - dry and witty. He was a friend to all he met and there will never be another like him.

Darren left behind his beloved wife Idis; daughters, Whitney Wicker and Emily Wicker; sister Carol Busby (Jay) and his parents.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Walker.  Also left to cherish his memory are aunts, uncles, cousins and many lifelong friends.  At the time of his death Darren was employed at Westwind Construction Company as Operations Manager.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Christ United Methodist Church, 3101 Coit Road, Plano, Texas.
