Daphne Ruth Klein passed away on November 20, 2020 at the age of 92 in Plano, Texas. She was born to Otis and Grace Gillaspy in San Diego, California on July 2, 1928. She moved as a young child and grew up in Kerrville, Texas. She graduated in 1945 from Tivy High School. On April 17, 1949 she married the love of her life Norman Arno Klein. They soon moved to Denver, Colorado where she was a secretary for Gates Rubber Company for 40 years retiring in 1990. They lived in Colorado for over 45 years enjoying the mountains and years of travel to many places all over the world. Ruth loved cooking, embroidery, doing charity work, socializing with her friends and traveling. In1995 they moved to Georgetown, Texas where they enjoyed life in the hill country. In 2012 they moved to Plano to be near relatives. After 66 years of marriage, Norman passed away in 2014.
Left behind loving and missing her are nephews and nieces: Daniel Jung, Kathleen Palmerin ( Bert), Becky Scott, Billy Jung (Bonnie), Carol Surrells (Dennis), Fred Horn (Norma), Nancy Aniol (Cliff) and Mark Horn. She is also survived by numerous great nephews and nieces and wonderful life-long friend Suzanne Noble (Howard) from Colorado.
Due to Covid -19 there will be no public memorial service. Graveside service will be at 10 AM Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with Harold Bailey officiating.
The family is grateful for the wonderful and loving care the last ten months provided by Freedom Hospice and the pampering she received from Carla Umpire and her staff at Alma Residential Care.
