Dana Mcgill

June 15, 1970 — June 10, 2023

Dana Lee McGill was born June 15, 1970, in Bay City, Michigan to parents Larry and Trudy (Hines) Honeman.

Dana was better known as Mom; Mommy; Mama; Mum; Mimi; and (to her immense dislike) Duper Dan, lived a beautiful and fun, albeit far too short, life filled with love, laughter, and, most importantly to her, family. Dana loved her family, and especially her children, more than anything. It is telling about Dana’s impact on everyone’s lives that she passed lovingly surrounded by her husband, children, sisters, and grandchildren.

Dana was a feisty and hard-working woman, best known for speaking her mind and, for better or for worse, never being told what to do. This began as a child, where she never failed to get in trouble for not doing chores, and continued into high school, where this drive made her a star on the basketball court. These traits also carried Dana far throughout life, as she went from high school to a single mom working multiple jobs, and then to a high-level executive at multiple mortgage lending companies, including Bank of America.

But however outstanding Dana was at her job—and make no mistake, she was—it was simply a means to an end for her: to take care of her children. Dana unconditionally and unselfishly loved her children and supported them all her life. Of course, everyone who knew Dana understood she had a deep love not only for her family, but also for her dogs, Teddy; Gizmo; Chaz; Harley Quinn; Marilyn Monroe; and Jasper Cullen. To say that her family, friends, and her dog will miss her greatly is an understatement.

Dana is survived by her loving husband, Frederick McGill; her parents, Trudy Volders, Denise Honeman, and Larry Honeman; her siblings, Rochel Burke, Jill Ringman, Steven Ulbricht, Kris Ulbricht, and Michael Ulbricht; her children, Amanda Flusche, Jordan Miller, Logan Miller, Ethan Miller, and Morgan Miller; her step-children, Brittany McGill, Brandon McGill, Alexis McGill, and Destiny McGill; and her grand-children, Landon Flusche, Gavin Flusche, Aubryn Flusche, Dawson Sutton, and Lorelai Miller. Dana was preceded in death by her son, Griffan Miller.
