Daniel “Dan” Garasich, 78, of Plano, Texas, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024. He was born in Paris, France to Francis and Yvette Garasich on January 8, 1946.
Dan grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he met and married his high school sweetheart Patricia “Pat” Garasich. He became a successful salesman who transferred his family to Chicago, Illinois, and eventually to Plano, Texas in 1981. Most recently, he enjoyed working at a specialty meat market where he worked alongside friends who treated him like family.
Dan was very active in his church, Prince of Peace in Plano, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He frequently volunteered to help at church breakfasts where he was known as “The Omelette Man”. Over the last 13 years he also helped with the Prince of Peace Wheelchair Drive. He loved his church and his fellow parishioners.
Dan was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia “Pat” Garasich, their son Daniel “JR” Garasich of Plano, Texas, and his brothers William and Francis Garasich, both of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his daughter Cheryl “Garasich” Persichitte and son-in-law Jeff Persichitte, grandchildren Madison and Jordan Persichitte, and great granddaughter Charlotte Nollman, all of Frisco, Texas.
Dan’s Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2024 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5100 W. Plano Pkwy., Plano, Texas 75093 with Inurnment to follow.
