It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Damian Cashmere-Thorne, a cherished son, brother, and father, who left us on September 16, 2025, at the age of 49.
He was born on October 1, 1975, in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, Damian brought a big personality and an even bigger heart into the world. He was the first child of Cheryllann Wilson and Denzyl Cashmere-Thorne.
From his first word, "car," it was clear that Damian was destined to work with automobiles. He dedicated his life to his passion, becoming a skilled auto mechanic who found immense satisfaction in fixing, tuning, and driving fast. To those who knew him, Damian was a force of nature—a happy, loving person and a true survivor. With a quiet intensity and an easy-going nature, he was the life of any room, always ready to make a situation a livelier one. Family will forever remember him yelling out phrases like "blouse and skirts," or saying, "tsk tsk" and "katoof" with a laugh whenever his brothers, Don and Sean, were getting into trouble.
He will be remembered not only for his passions but for the love he had for his family. He is survived by his son, Dante Thorne; his parents, Cheryllann Wilson and Denzyl Cashmere-Thorne; and his siblings, Don Brathwaite, Shelly Ann Wilson, Sean Wilson-Bynoe, Marc-Andre Dowden, Davina Thorne, and David Thorne. He is preceded in death by his son, Nathan Anthony Thorne (August 16, 1998 - May 8, 1999).
A funeral service to celebrate Damian’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 25, 2025, at One Community Church in Lewisville, Texas. There will be a visitation from 10:00-10:45 a.m., before the service.
Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
