Curt Myers, age 83, was born in Hunter, North Dakota on September 9, 1936 and passed away peacefully on August 13, 2020, with his family around him.
He was first and foremost, a family man. Married to his wife Audrey for over 63 years, he loved his four children and eight grandchildren and he made them all his priority in life. He was an enthusiastic sports fan and was involved in baseball and basketball and coaching many of his kids’ teams through the years. From the time he was in high school, Curt loved to sing and found a passion singing in church choir and barbershop chorus. He thoroughly enjoyed singing with the Vocal Majority for 15 years.
Curt’s professional career was in information technology and he had a long tenure with Massey-Ferguson and American Airlines that took his family to many different cities. Wherever they were, Curt was involved in their church and most recently has had the friendship and support of The Family Living Class at his church home, Christ United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Myers; grandson, Calvin Stewart and son-in-law, Jerry Lee
Curt is survived by his wife of 63 years, Audrey Myers of Frisco, Texas; children, Brad Myers of Sydney, Australia, Brian (Raylene) Myers of Heath, Texas, Cindy (John) Prudich of McKinney, Texas and Tami (Bruce) Stewart of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Tyler (Jennifer) Lee of Weston, Connecticut, Travis (Cally) Lee of Dallas, Texas, Rob (Nikki) Myers of Sydney, Australia, Andrew Myers of Sydney, Australia, Mitchell Myers of Phoenix, Arizona, Jackie Myers of Dallas, Texas and Alexander Stewart of Dallas, Texas and sister, Beverly (Darrell) Mitchell of Midland, Michigan.
In his final days, Curt welcomed his first great-grandchild, Caden, to the family. He was dearly loved by his family and friends.
The family has planned a private family service to be held at their church columbarium later this month.
If you feel so led, the family has requested that donations, in Curt’s memory, be made to his favorite organizations:
