Claudette Lohr

June 9, 1956 — March 8, 2022

On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, Claudette Opal Lohr passed away at the age of 65. She was born on June 9, 1956 to Claud Thomas Lohr and Wilma Eloise Williams Lohr in Wellington, Texas.

Claudette grew up in Vinson, Oklahoma, attending school there and later in Hollis, Oklahoma. She graduated from Hollis High School in 1974 and received her Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in nursing at East Central Oklahoma State University. She was a kind, loving, compassionate and caring lady. Many patients were touched by her expertise as an RN.

She was an active member of Prestonwood Baptist Church. Claudette stated in her personal testimony that she tried to please God by doing enough good works to gain his approval for a happy life. On her journey, she realized she needed a savior because she didn’t have the strength within herself to bring the inner peace and happiness that she longed for. As her relationship with God grew, she became a testimony to His love and grace.

She was passionate about serving the less fortunate at home and abroad.  Since 1998, she was an RN volunteer for “Serving Him”, a medical / dental organization providing health care annually to the underprivileged of Romania.  Claudette joined Northwood Woman’s Club in 2015. She was an active volunteer, making quilts for an interfaith family services organization. She also led the Summer Reading Buddies program for the King’s Academy at Bonton Farms, where she was adored by teachers and students.  She was a member of The Faculty Woman’s Club  (FWC) of UT Southwestern, the Dallas Chapter of Hadassah and the 200 Club and the Jewish Federation.

Claudette’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Faith Chapel at Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 W. Park Boulevard, Plano, Texas 75093.  A Reception will follow in the Fireside Room.

Interment will be at a later date at the Fairmont Cemetery in Hollis, Oklahoma.
