Christopher Grant Ourfalian

October 24, 2002 — May 19, 2026

Carrollton, Texas

It is with deep sorrow and pained hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Christopher Ourfalian. Born prematurely on October 24, 2002, in Pasadena, California, to parents Stephanie Litz and Raffi Ourfalian. Christopher was tenderly nurtured and lovingly raised and cared for by a family that spanned from coast to coast. His life, which began early, ended just as prematurely, in the early hours of Tuesday, May 19, 2026, in Dallas, Texas leaving an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew him.

As the only child of his parents, Christopher held a uniquely cherished place in their lives. His short but meaningful life was a precious gift, and his memory will forever remain woven into the story of his family with enduring love.

He was raised in California, Nicaragua, and Delaware before moving to Texas to pursue his culinary career. A graduate of the Dallas College Culinary, Pastry, and Hospitality Center, Christopher was a rising star in the Dallas culinary scene. Most recently, as the as sous-chef at Mot Hai Ba, by helping the team earn two successive Michelin Bib Gourmand awards.

His passion for food was deeply connected to his rich family heritage and his faith. While he proudly traced his maternal roots to the founding days of this nation, he also embraced his father’s Armenian heritage with enthusiasm and pride. A member of St. Sarkis Armenian Orthodox Church, Christopher spent many Sundays cooking for his close-knit church community. This autumn, he was scheduled to travel through Birthright Armenia to teach at a culinary school and volunteer at a restaurant in Armenia.

Christopher brought joy and laughter into the lives he touched, whether in the kitchen, on the soccer pitch, or among friends and family. His interests were broad, and his passions ran deep. A lifelong Bayern Munich fan, he had an eclectic taste in music, loved foxes and anime films, and was fluent in Spanish and studying Armenian.

Christopher is survived by father, Raffi Ourfalian; mother, Stephanie Litz; grandmothers Elizabeth Ourfalian and Claudette Litz; aunts and uncles, Rita and Vahe Messerlian, Sylva and Ara Dayian, Valerie and Craig Baxley, Lisa and Robert Pritchard, and Kenneth Borland; and many loving cousins and friends. Christopher was preceded in death by grandfathers Minas Ourfalian and Gerald Litz; and great grandmother Hripsime Ourfalian.

We will honor him in the way we love one another, in the way we show up for our community, and in the way we keep his kindness alive. His absence is immeasurable, but so is the love he leaves behind. May his beautiful spirit rest in peace, and may we find comfort in knowing that his light will never dim in our hearts.
