Chris Walker

November 9, 1970 — March 20, 2023

Chris Walker passed from this earth, unexpectedly, on March 20, 2023.  He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Chris was born on November 9, 1970, at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas, Texas.  He grew up in Garland, Texas and attended North Garland High School, graduating in 1990. While still in high school, Chris enrolled in the US Army Reserves. He received commendations as a Sharpshooter and Marksman while enlisted.

After high school, Chris went on to Richland College preparing for his career in law enforcement.  He joined the Garland Police Department in 1992.  While employed there, he left temporarily to finish his college education, graduating from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration before rejoining the Garland Police Department.  He went on to the rank of lieutenant while also completing his master’s degree at Amberton University in 2003.

Chris left law enforcement in 2009 to work in the insurance and customer service industry.  He was most recently employed by Home Depot for the last several years in different roles and supervisory capacities.

Chris leaves behind siblings, Terry Walker of Austin, Texas and Margueritte Freeman and husband Ron of Lavon, Texas.  He was the beloved uncle of Heather Dugan of Austin, Delaney Freeman of Fort Work and Riley Freeman of Lewisville.  There are also a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins and great nieces and nephews that will miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Doug and Nancy (Connor) Walker.

Chris’s favorite title was Uncle.  He loved nothing more than spending time with his family.  He was also a fanatical lover of movies and enjoyed golf, sports and hunting. He was the king of movie quotes and lived to laugh.

Chris left this world all too soon, but the family takes comfort in the fact that he is at peace now and his pain and suffering are gone. We know that he is in the care of his loved ones that departed before him.

With tearful eyes

We watched you suffer.

And saw you fade away,

Although we loved you dearly

We could not make you stay.
