Cheryl Brewer Housley was a true Southern Belle woman! Born on January 8, 1957, in Jackson, Mississippi! Cheryl graduated from Callaway Senior High School, class of 1975.
Cheryl loved God, life, family and friends! She loved Elvis, going to the lake and Hallmark movies. She lived in Plano until recently moving to her lovely, but first, home in Anna, which she was so proud of. Her smile was contagious.
She loved life so much and had a powerful charisma with her personality, southern voice, upbeat, most positive attitude, and deep love she had and gave to all of us! She was the life of the party! We have all been blessed by her spirit!
Cheryl never met a stranger. She had many different friends from all walks of her life and numerous ones at Prestonwood Baptist Church. One word to describe Cheryl, was “positivity”! She had majestic flow of positiveness that she blessed us all with! We can learn a lot from this woman of strong faith and courage.
Her “heart” is her two daughters and her two grandsons! Cheryl loved her faith so much! She always loved having her family and friends over, as she loved to entertain.
Cheryl loved the “girly-girl”, elaborate “frou-frou”, red everything; lipstick, nails and décor in her home. She loved to dress up. Cheryl had to put her red lipstick on “before taking the trash out.”
She worked as a nurse recruiter. She worked up through to the very end of her life. We are not sure how she did this except by her strong faith, God and courage.
Cheryl fought a courageous battle with stage four lung cancer. Her faith, utmost positive attitude and her strength through God kept her fighting as long as she could. She walked with God and her faith was so important to her and kept her strong. She fought a hard and powerful fight until the very end. Cheryl passed peacefully and painlessly on January 7, 2019, one day prior to her 62 nd birthday. She was the most incredible mother, grandmother and friend to all of us.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Josephine (Barranco) Brewer.
Cheryl is survived by her two daughters, Kim Trammell of Prosper, Texas and Stephanie Porter of Colorado; two grandsons, Tanner and Joshua of Prosper, Texas; two sisters, Brenda Dothard Brewer of Phoenix City, Alabama and Rosie Whittington of Bolton, Mississippi and numerous friends.
She left behind a legacy of love, faith and positiveness.
We were blessed to have this Angel of God in our lives.
