Charlotte Mosely Fuqua, a loving wife of 50 years, mother and grandmother; left us peacefully in her sleep on January 6, 2018.
Charlotte was born on October 16, 1950 in Farmersville, Louisiana to Viola Bowlin Mosely and Laverne Jay Mosely. She was named by her brother George, after the prettiest little girl in his 4thgrade class. “Lottie” was a happy baby girl and at the age of two she was diagnosed with polio. She would spend nine months in a special polio center in Alexandria, Louisiana and then two more years in therapy, mostly provided by her mother Viola. Due to this intense therapy, she was walking normally by the age of five and was able to throw away her leg braces and horribly ugly brown high-top shoes.
The Mosely family moved to Dallas when Charlotte was twelve and she graduated from North Dallas High School. During her teenage years she met the love of her life, Gary Paul Fuqua and they were married in 1967 at White Rock Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas. They bought a home in Garland, Texas where they made a life together and raised their three children.
Charlotte made a career of working within the banking industry, mostly for Murray Savings and then EDS, retiring from EDS in 2004. Her passions were reading, horse racing and rooting for her favorite NFL team, the New England Patriots. As many who knew her will attest, Charlotte was very intelligent and had a quiet confidence and strength as she shared her life with her children, grandchildren and extended family. In her later years, Charlotte suffered from post-polio syndrome and that strength helped her to deal with its effects while leading a normal life.
She is survived by her beloved husband Gary of Plano, loving son John and wife Brandy of Celina, and their sons Jonathon and Mason, loving daughter Heather and husband Kenny of Carrollton, and their daughters Amanda, Kenzie and Kailyn. She is preceded in death by her Father and Mother, Laverne and Viola and her son Michael.
Our love will follow her through her new life and all the days of our lives.
