Charles Everett Naylor was born on September 14, 1943, to Dr. Everett and Dorothy Naylor of Massillon, Ohio. He passed away suddenly on June 27, 2022.
He was the greatest dad and grandpa, AKA Chuck, Chas, and Big Papa Pump. He enjoyed family gatherings and celebrating life.
He had a very happy childhood with memories of Armstrong family farm riding a horse. He went ice-skating, sledding, and swimming with his sister and brothers, and they were outside all the time. He made a baseball field in the vacant lot behind the house on Delaware Avenue, no girls allowed, not even his favorite sister.
The summer of seventh grade his family moved to Jackson Township. They created mazes in the cornfield on Opal Street and probably got in trouble with the farmer. Chas joined a baseball league and loved playing.
He graduated from Jackson Memorial High School in 1961. He went to Kent State University and graduated in 1966 with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics.
He moved his family from Ohio to Texas in 1977 and worked for Southland Corporation. During his career as a Senior Oracle Developer and Administrator, he also worked at Nortel Networks and XO Communications. He had many certifications and enjoyed a successful career in I.T.
He was a loyal Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavs fan. He also loved the Ohio State Buckeyes and Dallas Cowboys. He also had a love for nature walks, animals, music, movies, and travel. He was a competitive fantasy football player.
He was a faithful parishioner of St Elizabeth’s Seton Catholic Church for 43 Years.
We celebrate his life and will cherish the memories. We are grateful for his kindness, cheerfulness, and generosity. He will be deeply missed!!
Charles is survived by his children Thomas Naylor and his wife Shannon, Timothy Naylor and Christina Naylor; grandchildren Nick and Matt Naylor, Ashley and Jax Moren, Bryce and Jessica Naylor; siblings Linda Platt, Mark Naylor and his wife Cinde and Jimmy Naylor; mother of his children Maria Seay and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
