Charles (Chuck) W. Mitchell was born in Kirksville, Missouri on December 14, 1942 to parents Charles A. and Patricia (Keenan) Mitchell. He passed away at his home in Plano on January 16, 2018.
Chuck went to high school at Wasson High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado and graduated from high school in Arvada, Colorado. He then proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. After his service in the Marine Corps, he moved back to Denver, CO where he attended a technical computer school. Chuck started his career at JCPenney in the computer operation center on June 1, 1966 and continued with the company until his retirement in 1998.
Chuck married the love of his life, Veronica (Ronni) Mitchell on September 10, 1966. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and good friend to many others. He was an avid golfer, loved to travel, play cards, paint, and enjoyed socializing with friends and family. He had a huge affinity for sports from college to pro, but especially loved the Denver Broncos.
He is survived by his wife, Ronni, of 51 years, daughters: Michelle Morris and husband, Rusty, of Spring, Texas; Kathy Engle and husband, Greg, of Frisco, Texas; and Nicole Bruns and husband, Chris, of Prosper, Texas. Sister: Pam Lockhart of Lexington, KY, Grandchildren Mitchell Tennison, Cassie Tennison, Abby Tennison, Randall and Bridgette Morris, Kasey Morris, Colton and Megan Morris, Colby Morris, Jameson Engle, Jaelyn Engle, Walt Bruns, Oscar Bruns, and Vivian Bruns.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Monday, January 22 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Plano, Texas with Father Bruce Bradley officiating. Chuck will be laid to rest in the St Elizabeth Ann Seton Columbarium following the mass. If desired, memorial donations may be made to: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W.
