Casimir “Ace” Marcio died peacefully on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in McKinney, Texas at the age of 85. He was born January 10, 1932 in Yonkers, New York.
Casimir was in the United States Army and served his country in the Korean War, stationed in Okinawa. After the war, he married the love of his life, Madeline Daly, on October 2, 1954, and then became a father to his only child, Kathleen. He worked for his entire career at the Reliable Automatic Sprinkler Company, working his way up to Director of Quality Control. He retired in 1995 and moved with Madeline to be with his daughter and granddaughters in Texas.
He loved playing and watching sports – whether football, baseball, basketball or hockey. He rooted for the Philadelphia Eagles and teased his family about being lifelong Cowboys fans. He loved playing sports in his younger days with his buddies from the Glenners sports club. But he loved nothing more than his “girls.” From taking care of his wife, to raising his daughter and helping raise his granddaughters, he coached softball, had family dinner every Sunday, and was there every day after school to help with homework. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
Casimir is survived by his daughter Kathleen Arena and his granddaughters Lindsey Coffey and Kristin Welsh. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years Madeline Marcio, his parents Wladislaw (William) and Mary (Kuster) Marcio, his four brothers John, Joseph, Anthony and Stanley, and his sister Stella Jablonka.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated, Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas, 75023. A reception will immediately follow the Mass. Casimir will be laid to rest at the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas at 1:30 P.M. the same day.
In lieu of flowers, his family asks for donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
