Carolyn Leming Rommel

Carolyn Leming Rommel was born May 14, 1940 in Jersey City, New Jersey to parents William (Bill) and Ceclia (Maloney) Leming. She passed away March 3, 2018 in Plano, Texas.

Carolyn was raised in Jersey City and upon graduation from high school, she began her career as a keypunch operator for Royal Globe Insurance. She married George in 1959 and started her family, eventually relocating to Plano, Texas in 1972. After raising her children, Jim and Susan, she returned to work and ultimately retired from her career as an Engineering Assistant at Ericsson.

She enjoyed traveling as well as spending precious time with her family. Carolyn, fondly referred to as “Mema” or “Grandma Carol”, enjoyed being involved in her grandchildren’s artistic and athletic activities.

Many years were spent creating lifelong memories at their family lake house on Cedar Creek Lake. Carolyn found great pleasure spending time with her close friends, particularly those from her church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was cherished by all those whose lives she touched. She will be greatly missed.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband George Rommel, son Jim Rommel and his spouse Karen, daughter Susan Rommel-Boyd and her spouse Kristen, grandchildren Pace, Leah and Hannah Rommel, Erica Kerby, Pierce and Davis Glenn, sister Regina Urban. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Bill Leming.

The family will receive friends for a visitation Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 7-8:00 P.M. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas 75023. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with The Rev. Bruce Bradley officiating. There will be a reception immediately following the mass at the Parrish hall.

Carolyn will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Ridgeview West Memorial Park, Frisco, Texas.
