Carol Lynn Dickens Dusek Rogers died on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born on May 22, 1936, in Eldorado, Texas to Rueben Dickens and Anne Neill Dickens Hogg.
Carol (Lynn) spent her early years in Eldorado and graduated from Lakeview High School in San Angelo in 1954. She married Benny Dusek in 1953 and together they raised their three children in Odessa, Texas. Carol married Gary Rogers in 1975.
Carol began her professional life in Dallas working for F&M Systems and Brinker International. She then became the owner of Skylight Sales and assisted Gary with Acra-Lite of Texas. Carol was active with the Collin County Charter Chapter of ABWA serving in numerous officer positions. She was named Woman of the Year for the Collin County ABWA chapter in 1992. Carol was also active with NARI Greater Dallas for many years, serving as Executive Director beginning in 2001, president in 1999-2000 and named Most Outstanding Member for 1996-1997.
Carol, along with her beloved husband, Gary, built a life full of love for each other, their families, and their friends. She was an amazing CiCi. She and Gary shared a passion for adventure and traveled to all 50 states and cruised all over the world. Some of her favorite adventures were with her dear sister, Jonnie. They enjoyed antiquing together and were always sure to stop at any place selling fudge.
Carol is survived by her husband Gary Rogers; daughter Joni Stewart and husband John; son Jay Dusek and wife Terri; daughter Lori Dew and husband Paul; grandchildren Ben Stewart, Tyler Dusek, Tristan Dusek and Reese Dew; nephews Robert Barrows, Ken Barrows, Bryan Barrows and Mac Dickens. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Carol Gardner and husband Tom; stepsons Pat Rogers, Bret Rogers, Paul Rogers and wife Jenny; grandchildren Robert Rogers, Caden Rogers, Emma Rogers, and Ryan Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Neill Dickens; sister Jonnie Barrows Burrell; and nephews David and Kevin Dickens.
Carol’s support and encouragement are cherished by her children and grandchildren. Her thoughtfulness and kindness to others will be remembered by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers and staff at Lovewell Hospice, Hallmark Home Care, and The Auberge for their devotion and loving care of Carol in the past year.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Allen Family Funeral Options.
Private interment to be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
