Carol Arnold, 84, passed away on October 26, 2024, at her home in Plano, Texas under hospice care. Carol was born April 5, 1940, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Irving and Leah Seversen. She graduated Middleton High School in 1958 and married James Arnold on September 24, 1960. Carol and Jim have been married happily ever after for 64 years.
She loved her family and friends and enjoyed bowling and all the Dallas and Wisconsin sports teams. Carol (a.k.a. “The Plano Sign Lady”) most loved Plano Wildcats football and could be found in the stands at almost all home and away games for 46 years. For 40 of those years, you could see her waving her very bright, flashing PLANO #1 sign.
Carol is survived by her loving husband Jim, son Mike and his wife Laurie of Honey Grove, Texas; daughter Becki and her husband Mark of McKinney, Texas; grandson Travis of Bonham, Texas; and sister Evelyn and her husband Gerry of Silverdale, Washington.
A private family celebration will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Carol’s name to the Plano Animal Shelter because of her love for animals.
