Carmen Orozco Sanchez

June 21, 1942 — October 22, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Carmen Orozco Sanchez, born on June 21, 1942, in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. Carmen passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024, in Plano, Texas.

Carmen was born to Maria and Jesus Orozco and was the youngest of 17 children. She met her husband, Elias Sanchez, at church while he was considering becoming a priest. Elias said after seeing her for the first time, he knew he couldn't be a priest, and that God had other plans for him. They later married and had 6 of their 8 children in Mexico before moving to the U.S. and having 2 more children. She loved cooking for her friends and family and made sure everyone had thirds. She loved being with her family, talking and laughing over a nicely prepared meal. She not only was skilled at cooking but could throw a chancla around the corner to break up a fight between the kids. Most of all, she loved Jesus and was a prayer warrior constantly praying for her loved ones and those around her. Her greatest desire was for her family to know God, love God, and live a life honoring Him.

Carmen was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Carmen was preceded in death by her husband, Elias Sanchez, her parents, and 13 elder siblings. She is survived by her 2 sisters: Lupe Orozco, Chela Orozco; her close niece who was like a sister, Arcelia Orozco; her 8 children: Claudia Tinoco, Laura Sanchez, Ricardo Sanchez and wife Maggie Sanchez, Fred Sanchez, Frank Sanchez, Maria Sanchez, Gabriela Mendoza and husband Ernesto Mendoza, and Will Sanchez and wife Christy Sanchez; by her 25 grandkids: Glen Tinoco, Carlos Tinoco, Chris Tinoco, Andrew Tinoco, Viviana Arias, Jonathan Arias, Jirett Sanchez, Ricky Sanchez, Danny Sanchez, Raphael Sanchez, Mercedes Pleasant, Kadie Rohr, Joel Sanchez, Gisselle Sanchez, Julian Sanchez, Nathalie Sanchez, Frankie Sanchez, Josh Sanchez, Madison Bick, Annagrace Mendoza, Isaiah Mendoza, Keely Sanchez, Liliana Sanchez, Gabriel Sanchez, Joaquin Sanchez; by her grandkids in-law: Anahi Tinoco, Masha Tinoco, Mark Pleasant, Dylan Rohr; and by her 6 great grandkids: Aidan Tinoco, Samuel Tinoco, Daniel Tinoco, Kinsley Sharp, Greyson Vick, Mj Pleasant. As well as many more loved cousins and extended family in Mexico.

Carmen's warmth, kindness, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Carmen’s legacy of love and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Holding you in our hearts until we can hold your loving hands again. May she rest in peace in the arms of Jesus, her loving savior, who she has now met face-to-face.
