Carl Francis Supplee

Carl Francis Supplee, fondly known as Papa Carl, passed away peacefully at Prestonwood Court in Plano, Texas on May 28, 2023. He was born on May 3, 1933, in Kansas City, Kansas to Claude and Alice (Etue) Supplee.

Carl graduated from St. Peter's Catholic School and Bishop Ward High School where he excelled in several sports. He later graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.A. in Industrial Design. Carl was a proud Army veteran serving stateside for two years during the Korean War. Most of his career was spent working for Rexnord in Cincinnati, Atlanta and Dallas where he retired as Regional Sales Director.

Carl had many interests and hobbies over his lifetime including computer assisted drawing, genealogy, Civil War history, photography and travel. He was a loyal fan of the championship KU Jayhawk basketball team and enjoyed playing and watching golf.

A talented landscape designer and home remodeler, he served as a board member and president of the Historic Ocala Preservation Society. He was a member of the Lions Club and was a lifelong Catholic.

Carl is survived by his six children, Michelle (Stacy) McCorkle, Denise (Chris) Hulen, Suzette Myers of Atlanta, Georgia, Jeanine (Russ) Melbye, Michael Supplee, John (Susan) Supplee, and his first wife Jeanine Supplee all of Dallas, Texas; sister Patty (Leon) Keens of Missouri; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends. He is also survived by Linda's children, Cheri (Michael) Leier and Tina Longobardi of Florida; Terri Williams of Arizona; James Williams of Mississippi; her grandchildren and great grandchild.  Carl was preceded in death by his parents, wife Linda, grandson Carl, five sisters and one brother.

Somewhere in heaven he's asking, "What's the plan?'', enjoying his afternoon vodka on the rocks, and listening to his favorite Willie Nelson songs.

Carl will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

Services will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff at Prestonwood Court and Visiting Nurse Association of Texas (Hospice) for their care of Carl.
