Bruce Burns was born in Dallas, Texas July 20, 1963, to parents Ray and Bethel Virginia (Harris) Burns and spent most of his growing up years in Temple, Texas (where our mom still lives).
He loved dogs and was so happy to get a puppy for his sixth birthday! He named the dog Snoopy; he was half beagle and half dachshund. Bruce fell in love with cars at a very young age and had a collection of Hot Wheels which he later gave to a younger cousin. His favorite cartoon was Speed Racer, and he loved NASCAR racing; his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt. Bruce also loved NHRA drag racing and loved building engines for his own cars. He loved going fast!!!
After graduating from Temple High School in 1981, Bruce attended TSTI in Waco, where he learned his trade of automotive technology. Bruce's career passion was in automotive repair, and he achieved master technician status.
Bruce began his career in Temple and Killeen, then he moved to the DFW Metroplex to work. Bruce worked with his cousin, Kevin, and his best friend, Norm, for several years. Around 1990, Bruce met the love of his life, Jacque. They spent many happy years together and married on January 25, 2004. They loved dogs and always adopted their "fur babies" from various animal shelters. Bruce loved his family and would do anything for them when asked. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends!
His wife Jacque passed away in January of this year and they are now together once again.
Bruce is survived by his mother Beth Burns; sister Sandy Hendrix and her husband Andy; nieces and nephews Amber Hendrix, Dustin and Joseph Grams, Wesley, Blake and Brady Wilson and Katy Villareal; brothers and sisters in law Janet Davis and her husband Charles, Randy Wilson and his wife Karla; uncles Travis and Raymond Harris; cousins Lisa Hoppe, Steve, Brian, Curtis and Kevin Derting, Carol Curlee, Paul and Steve Harris, Liz Marr.
