Brian Dale Woodrick

April 26, 1966 — January 7, 2024

Brian Dale Woodrick peacefully passed away all too soon on January 7, 2024, in his home in Plano, Texas at 57 years old.

Brian (Woody) was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 26, 1966. His beginnings in Wisconsin led to him becoming an enduring Green Bay Packer fan. He later moved to New Jersey and attended Milburn High School where he played golf and was captain of the golf team. After graduating high school in 1984, he attended Wake Forest where he was a member of the Chi Psi Fraternity. At Wake Forest, he became a fan of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and met lifelong friends, many of whom he saw recently at their thirty-fifth college reunion.

Brian graduated from Wake Forest in 1988 and began his career at Blockbuster, where he proudly worked for 18 years. He moved around the country until landing in Dallas, Texas in 1997, where he met and married his life partner and best friend, Tiffany.

Brian was a huge sports enthusiast. In addition to his Packers and Deacons, he loved watching all sports, even cornhole and curling. He delighted in watching and coaching Curtis and Connor’s basketball teams from elementary through middle school. Volunteering as a band dad, soccer dad, and wrestling dad, he was always his sons’ biggest fan, supporting them in all their endeavors.

He relished all things trivia. If you had 80s, movies, or music trivia, you wanted to have Brian on your team. Brian and his family lived in a close-knit neighborhood where he took on the role of social leader of the men’s group and formed many strong friendships. He also enjoyed (and excelled at) pickleball and was a craft beer enthusiast. Brian loved traveling with his family. Some of his favorite trips were to London with the extended family, as well as to Spain, Italy, Club Med, and the journey of a lifetime on an Alaskan Cruise, where his trivia skills were on display when he won the Trivia King award.

A kind and caring man, Brian was a devoted husband who brought his wife flowers weekly. He was an excellent father and role model for his sons, and he always put his family first. Brian was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Brian is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Tiffany Curtis Woodrick, sons Curtis Tiger and Connor Nicklaus Woodrick, parents Carolyn and Ron Woodrick, sisters Kristine Leigh Peters and Valerie Paige King and Don King (husband), parents-in-law Michael and Sally Curtis, sister-in-law Wendy Curtis Smith, and nieces Brynn Taylor and Sienna Ryan Smith.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m., Friday, January 12, 2024, at Allen Family Funeral Options.

There will be a funeral service to celebrate his life at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 13, 2024, also at Allen Family Funeral Options.  Pastor Scott Heitshusen, who also married Brian and Tiffany will officiate the service.  If you wish to join the service via webcast, please visit: https://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/96557
