Brian Michael Byrwa

November 20, 1946 — March 25, 2022

Brian Michael Byrwa was born and raised in Yonkers, New York. It is with great sadness that we announce he passed away on March 25, 2022, after bravely enduring complications due to ALS.

He married Rosemarie Santarsiere in July of 1972 and they moved to Texas in 1978 with their two young children. He and Rosemarie quickly built a community of friends who became extended family. Brian valued faith, family, friends, hard work, and service throughout his life. He led by example and was dedicated to service through his church, community, and country.

He was a Fourth-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and also volunteered regularly with St Vincent de Paul Society. He was an avid Master Gardener and loved to share his knowledge and love of plants with all those around him.

Brian proudly served his country in the US Army and was stationed in Germany from 1967-1970. He graduated from Mercy College with a Bachelor of Science in 1977. His love of science led him to a career in technical sales of equipment used in applications from space shuttles to manufacturing computer processors.

Brian was known for his quick wit and never missed a chance to offer a pun or silly joke to make those around him smile. We grieve his loss deeply but know he will forever live on in our hearts, the lives he touched, the gardens he created, and the jokes he told! His devotion, love, faith, and service to others are an inspiration to all.

He is survived by his spouse Rosemarie Byrwa, son Brian Christopher Byrwa, daughter Michele Byrwa Hamilton, son-in-law Trey Hamilton, and grandchildren Kaden, Henry, and Audrey. Brian is also survived by his beloved siblings Arthur Byrwa, Carole Anne Mackay, and Lori White, as well as many nieces, nephews and an extended community of friends that loved him dearly.

A funeral mass will be celebrated for Brian on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 Eldorado Pkwy, Frisco, Texas with The Rev. Rudy Garcia officiating.

Brian will be laid to rest at Dallas Ft Worth National Cemetery with military honors on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.

In his memory, please consider a donation to the ALS organization, St Vincent de Paul, or any other kind act of service to those around you.
