Blane Mathis

January 24, 1959 — June 24, 2020

Blane Mathis, 61, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 in Dallas, Texas. He was born in Ennis, Texas to JoAnn and Stanley Mathis. He graduated from Ennis High School and attended one year of college.

He was a successful business owner and a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan. His greatest inspiration in life was his love for his family. They gave him the will to fight for the last 18 years. His favorite place to be was either on the lake fishing or sharing his love of hunting with others. Blane's fondest memories are the day he shot a deer with his brother Shawn's rifle and attended the first Cowboy's Super Bowl.

Blane was a member of Willow Bend Church for 25 years where many heard his testimony about his incredible lifelong journey. He married Linda, the love of his life, 35 years ago.

He had away of touching everyone's heart , and he was a firm follower of Christ. Philippians 4:6-7 "Do Not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Blane is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Brandon and his wife, Gabrielle, Aaron and his wife, Abby, Taylor, and her fiance, Evan and grandson, Archer. He is preceded in death by his mother, JoAnn Mathis and brother, Shawn Mathis.

A memorial service will be held at 5pm on Sunday June 28th at Willow Bend Church located at 5701 West Park Blvd Plano, Texas 75093.
