Bill Schulz

William (Bill) Walter Schulz Jr., age 75, of Carrollton, Texas, passed Thursday, August 22, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.

Bill was born on February 5, 1949, to William Schulz Sr. and Betty Lou Schulz in Seguin, Texas. After Bill graduated from Schertz High School in Schertz, Texas he went on to study History and Political Science at Texas A&I Kingsville. Following graduation Bill accepted a role with Commercial Credit Company and began his career in finance. Throughout his career Bill made many lifelong friends and also completed his MBA from Southern Methodist University.

In 1975 Bill was introduced to Cheryl Phillips through a mutual friend at a Young Republicans party in Dallas. They married on July 10, 1976, and spent 48 years together raising their two children, Will and Whitney.

After working for The Associates, Citibank and GE Credit, Bill retired in 2009 and began his career as a grandfather. Bill loved nothing more than spending time with his wife and grandkids, cheering on the University of Texas Longhorns from the great state of Texas and travelling around the world. He was able to fulfill his lifelong goal of visiting such historic sites as the Galapagos Islands, Petra, Jordan and the pyramids in Egypt. He was also an avid gardener and found fulfillment serving as President of his neighborhood HOA.

Bill is survived by his wife Cheryl Schulz; children William Schulz and his wife Laura, Whitney Curry and her husband Bryan; grandchildren Max and Sofia Schulz and Laurence and Samantha Curry; his brother Kenneth Schulz and his wife Mary Lou. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Betty Lou and William Schulz Sr.
