Bill Berry

Bill B. Berry of Allen, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on February 10, 2020 from Congestive Heart Failure.

Bill was born July 28, 1931 in Griffith Indiana, to George W. Berry and Madge Berry. He graduated from Kansas State University and then served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in England. Upon returning to the states he had a long and successful career at General Electric Corporation.

Bill was married to La Verne Berry for 55 years before she passed away in May 2008. Bill is survived by their three sons Brian and his wife Debbie, Bruce and his wife Sheri, and Brent and his wife Karla; grandchildren Robert, Natalie, Holly, Scott, Stephanie, Andrew, Lauryn, Matt, Nick; and 17 great grandchildren; and his sister Sandy. He was predeceased by his sister Jean.

Bill was active until the last few weeks of his life. He was always involved in projects – preferably projects with power tools, screws, nails, wood, concrete, tractors, and/or plumbing, which required multiple trips to the Home Depot to complete; and preferably projects where precision was not important. He perceived no limits even when mobility, stability, and breathing were issues.

There will be a family gathering in late February, but no formal service. Bill will be placed in the crypt beside his wife La Verne at St Joseph’s cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
