Betty Ruth Stahl, age 91, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025. Born on April 19, 1934, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of Edward and Rose Silas Jones.
Betty met the love of her life, Bruce Stahl, while working at Vilter Manufacturing Company in Milwaukee. They married on May 6, 1961, and began their life together with a honeymoon move to Houston, Texas. In 1975, they settled in Richardson, Texas, where they raised their three children: Susan, John, and Sheri.
A devoted member of the First United Methodist Church of Richardson, Betty served in many roles throughout the years. She was a cherished member of the Pathfinder Sunday School Class and a dedicated participant in Stephen Ministries, offering compassionate, one-on-one Christian care, prayer, and communion to those in need. She also took part in several Bible study groups, deepening her faith and friendships.
Betty was an active member of the Richardson Women’s Club for many years, contributing to various committees, including the investment club. Professionally, she worked at MCI Telecommunications and other local businesses, always drawn to bookkeeping and accounting. She had a lifelong passion for tracking the stock market.
Proud of her heritage, Betty was a member of the Oneida Tribe near Green Bay, Wisconsin, and a loyal Green Bay Packers fan. She enjoyed reading, bowling, tennis, puzzles, and playing bridge.
Betty will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother “grammy”, great-grandmother, and friend. Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love touched all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Joyce Novak and Nadine Mitchell. She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Bruce Stahl; her brother, Richard “Dick” Jones; her children, Susan Burson (Marcus), John Stahl (Vicky), and Sheri Rich (Gerald); her grandchildren, Emily Villavicencio (Antonio), Stephanie Huber (Jay), Katelyn Marcelli (Dave), Trey Rich, and Kimberly Burson; and her great-granddaughter, Claire Lily Huber.
A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the First United Methodist Church of Richardson with a celebration of Betty’s life to follow at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Betty’s memory with a donation to the American Cancer Society.
The family of Betty Ruth Stahl is deeply grateful to God for her life, and for the love, friendship, and prayers shared by so many.
