Barbara Renee Whitfill of Frisco, formerly of Dallas and Paris, Texas, passed away on October 11, 2017 just one week after celebrating her 87th birthday.
Barbara was born on October 3, 1930 in Dallas, Texas. The 3 rd of 5 children of Remy and Daisy Ancelin; her siblings included her sister Mary Ellen and brothers Bud, David, and Don. As a child, she attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church and school. She graduated from Highland Park High School, and attended NTAC College in Arlington.
Barbara was working at Great American Insurance Company, where she met and married her husband Gilbert in 1950. Barbara and Gil were together until his death in 2006, and now share their love in heaven together with their son Charles who passed away in 2014. She was the beloved mother to 8 children. They raised their family in Dallas, Texas. She was a patient, compassionate and loving mother who was a shining example of grace and wisdom to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren throughout her entire life. She was a devout Catholic, and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi where her faith continued to grow, and she enjoyed the fellowship of many friends.
Barbara was a kind, loving, gentle and generous soul who made many precious friends wherever she lived, worked and worshiped. She will be greatly missed by all her friends, brothers and sisters, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and all of her extended family. The world is less bright from her passing and she will be dearly missed.
Barbara is survived by her children Cynthia Ann Whitfill Burns (Ronald), Steven Michael Whitfill (Sheryl Brooks), Kelly Whitfill (Debbie), Jeanne Erichson, Rosemary Bain (David), Patrick Whitfill (Jennifer), Nanette McRoberts (Mike), grandchildren Genevieve Lee, Neilson Beaupre (Leilani Case), R.J. Minard, Ryan Whitfill (Tina), Travis Whitfill (Elizabeth), Nina Erichson, Stephen Bain, Michael Bain, Edie McRoberts, great grandchildren Malorie, Rocco, Remy, Luke, Colt, Kai and Wren. She was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Martin Whitfill and son Charles Remy Whitfill.
A rosary will be recited Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. at Allen Family Funeral Options. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6:30-8:00 P.M. following the rosary. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated, Monday, October 16, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi, 8000 El Dorado Pkwy, Frisco, Texas 75033, with The Rev. Rudy Garcia, officiating. Barbara will be laid to rest with her husband and son in a private entombment at Calvary Hill Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
