Barbara Jean Wagoner

April 22, 1940 — May 5, 2018

Barbara Jean (Ingleman) Wagoner was born April 22, 1940 in Champaign, Illinois to parents Alvin and Opal (Quayle) Ingleman. She was raised in Champaign, Illinois as the second daughter of six children to “Squeak” and Opal Ingleman. They lived on a farm in Fisher, living off the land, until they moved into the city to attend Junior High. Barbara graduated from Champaign High School in 1958. Her personality and laughter made her so much fun to be around. It was while she was in school where she developed a love for singing and playing the French horn in band. She was an active member of First Presbyterian of Champaign. After graduation she attended Illinois Commercial College.

Barbara married in 1959 to John Wagoner and soon moved to Arlington, Virginia to start her family. She was a stay at home mom and wife, caring for her son Johnny and daughters Doris and Gennifer, while the family moved to Falls Church and settled in Centerville, Virginia.
In 1972, Barbara and her husband made their final move to Boca Raton, Florida with IBM. There they raised their three children. Barbara was a member of First United Methodist Church of Boca Raton and faithfully sang in the Chancel Choir. It was in Boca where she found her passion for teaching children and worked as a teacher’s aide in the Palm Beach County School system until retirement.

Barbara made the decision to live closer to her daughters and moved to Plano, Texas in 1993. She was a member of Custer Road United Methodist Church and again found her love of music in the alto section of the Chancel Choir. Barbara also gave of her time to support the children’s music ministry. She worked for the church for a short time but that was instrumental in launching her next phase of life as she cared for so many children. Not only did she help raise her four grandchildren, she had an extended family of all the children that had been a part of her life.

Barbara is survived by her children John Ellis Wagoner, Jr. and his wife Nancy, Doris Elizabeth Terry and her husband Kevin and Gennifer Rena Munoz and her husband Robert; grandchildren Autumn Hipps, Jason Stull, Ciera and Connor Terry, Gabriella and Journey Munoz; 4 great grandchildren; siblings Elizabeth Michael, Linda Faith and Shirley Maryan. She was preceded in death by grandson George Ellis Wagoner and brothers James and Michael Ingleman.

The family will receive friends at an Evening of Remembrance Friday, May 11, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Allen Family Funeral Options, Plano, Texas. There will be a memorial service to honor and celebrate Barbara's life Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at Custer Road United Methodist Church, 6601 Custer Road, Plano, Texas with Rev.
