Barbara Meadows Olchak

October 1, 1954 — May 11, 2025

Allen

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Patricia Olchak, 70, of Allen Texas on May 11, 2025, surrounded by her family. Barbara was born on October 1, 1954, in East Meadow, New York. Daughter of Kenneth and Marilyn Meadows. Barbara courageously battled Leukemia.

Barbara was a retired Title Clerk at Stewart Title, but most importantly a mom, grandmother, great grandmother and wife.

She met Larry Olchak in 1970 at Bowie Senior High School and would later marry in Las Vegas in 1977. He would be the love of her life and guiding light for the next 47 years.

She loved being with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who called her “Maga”.

Barbara is survived by her husband Larry; children Deborah “Debbie" Mary Tellez and her husband Marvin, John Michael Olchak and his wife Brandi, Sheryl Christine Olchak and her significant other Michael, Kathleen “Kathy" Anne Olchak; grandchildren, Lydia and husband Kobye, Michael, Alyssa, Cristian, Isabelle, Kalli, Michelle, Gabriella; great grandchildren, Elijah, Ezekiel, Evangeline, her brothers Richard and Michael Meadows of Dale City, Virginia, sister Nancy and husband Dave Tyron of Stafford, Virginia. Sister-in-law Karen Meadows of Gambrills, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Marilyn Meadows, and brother Kenny Meadows.

Barbara loved spending time with her children, especially her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. When she wasn’t spending time with family she was shopping for gifts for them. More often than not she would have a pending Temu delivery for the next rounds of presents. She also would enjoy watching Supernatural or General Hospital in her spare time, a show she used to enjoy with her mom too!

There will be a funeral mass held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at St. Jude Catholic Church, Allen, Texas with Father Bruce Bradley officiating. A rite of committal will follow mass.

A reception will be held following the service.
