Barbara Lou Hunter Johnson passed away February 28, 2025, in Parker, Texas at the age of 87. She was born May 15, 1937, in Celeste, Texas, to Alvin Mark and Dora Belle (Griffis) Hunter. After graduating from Celeste High School in 1955, she moved to Dallas and worked at Republic National Bank. She married John Edgar “Ed” Johnson, Jr. on December 4, 1959, at Rosemont Christian Church in Oak Cliff, Texas. Barbara later worked at The Associates.
When her children were born, Barbara stayed home with them and sometimes kept other children. In 1974, she helped Ed open a Kwik Kopy printing franchise in Dallas. They later opened a second franchise in Plano. She was a dedicated mother, balancing work and family life. Barbara taught her children to love Jesus and value family time. She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Plano where she attended the Christian Women’s Fellowship and served for a time as their Treasurer. She was also a faithful member of the Seekers Sunday School Class and Happy Days group.
Barbara is survived by her children Terry Max Johnson and wife, Virginia, of Austin, Texas, Deborah Lynn Loveday and husband, Troy, of Lowry Crossing, Texas and Timothy Todd Johnson and wife, Jenifer, of Canton, Texas.

She is also survived by her brother, Teddy Max Hunter, and his wife, Londa, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, John Edgar “Ed” Johnson, Jr., her brothers Hershel and Alvin, and her parents.
The family will receive friends for a visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Allen Family Funeral Options.

Barbara will be laid to rest with her husband at Hogeye-Celeste Cemetery, Celeste, Texas.
