Barbara Capulli

Barbara Lynn (Shepherd) Capulli of Plano, Texas was born on September 27, 1957, in Lexington Park, Maryland and was joyfully received into the arms of Jesus on February 14, 2025.

Barbara was a pillar of faith, finding strength and peace in her unwavering relationship with God. She met every trial in her life with grace, resilience, and an unshakable trust in God’s plan. Serving others was a central part of who she was, whether it was across the world doing missions or leading a Bible study in her home. Barbara was an inspiration to many in the way she exemplified peace which surpasses understanding.

Beyond her faith, Barbara was known for her joy, the way she snorted when she laughed, her sarcastic sense of humor, and her great love for music. She was always singing no matter what, whether it was praise and worship, radio sing alongs, or just around the house.

Barbara did many different things throughout her life, from teaching jazzercise, to leading worship, to playing pickleball, but to her, the most important was being a mother.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Carly and her furry “grandsons,” Kodak and Ozzy; her sisters, Mary (Shepherd) Cumers and Ruth (Shepherd) Byrd; her brothers, Ronnie and Arthur Shepherd; her sister-in-law Laura (Capulli) Bessey; her best friend Karen Hamlin; along with countless in-laws, nephews and nieces, and dear friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Capulli; her son, Nicholas Capulli; her parents, Joseph and Alice Shepherd; and her in-laws, Angelo and Ramona Capulli.

A memorial service will be held February 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Church in Plano, Tx.

Everyone attending is encouraged to wear shades of purple to honor Barbara.
