Audrey Gail Myers

Sep 27, 1936 — Aug 6, 2026

Frisco, Texas

Audrey Gail Myers, born on September 27, 1936 to Gayhart and Ida (Korstad) Haugen, passed away peacefully at her home on August 6, 2026.

Audrey, along with her two younger siblings, Janice Fitzgerald and Donald Haugen, were raised in Thief River Falls, Minnesota until her departure for Concordia Lutheran College in Moorhead, Minnesota. It was during her first year of college that she met D. Curtis Myers, whom she married in 1956, a beautiful marriage that lasted 64 years until Curt’s passing in 2020.

Audrey and Curt raised their children in the Midwest, primarily in Minneapolis, Minnesota and West Des Moines, Iowa. Audrey was a remarkable, loving wife, mother, aunt, sister, friend, community volunteer and church leader. She had a special gift of hospitality and for creating an adventure out of an ordinary day. She delighted in being a homemaker while raising their children and with her talents and love of people, transitioned into a career as a bridal consultant for the next twenty years.

In the mid-1980s, Audrey and Curt moved to Plano, Texas to be near their children and their growing families. They found a church home at Christ United Methodist Church and a wonderful fellowship of friends in the Family Living Sunday School class, the Christian Women’s Club and the Watermere Frisco community.

Audrey’s most cherished role and her greatest legacy was that of being a Nana. Creating memorable experiences with each of her eight grandchildren became her priority as she shared her values, insights and passion for life with them.

Audrey is survived by her sister Janice Fitzgerald and brother Donald (Joyce) Haugen; her four children, Brad Myers, Brian (Raylene) Myers, Cindy Lee, and Tami (Bruce) Stewart; seven grandchildren, Tyler (Jennifer) Lee, Robert (Nicole) Myers, Travis (Cally) Lee, Andrew Myers, Mitchell Myers, Jaclyn (Preston) DeLong, and Alexander (Nina) Stewart; and six great grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents Gayhart and Ida Haugen, husband D. Curtis Myers, daughter Sheryl Myers, son-in-law Jerry Lee, and grandson Calvin Stewart.

Audrey’s Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 17, 2026, at Allen Family Funeral Options, with Rev. Mike Flynn officiating. There will be a reception following the service.
