Anthony "Tony" Eugene Krauss

July 15, 1944 — January 1, 2019

Tony, 74, of Plano, met his Lord, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 after a warrior fight against MDS.

Tony was an honorable man who loved many things with Jesus Christ at the Center of all he did. Born in San Antonio on July 15, 1944 to Gene and Sis Krauss, Tony was the second of five children and the only boy. His childhood was spent playing outside, working at his Grandfather’s grocery store and going on many family outings including to the beach. Tony graduated from Highlands High School in 1962. That is where he met his high school sweetheart. They were married in 1962 and together had four children: Michael, Leesa, Audra and Sara. Tony served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1970 and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam Era. Upon his return he lived with his family in Lewisville and attended Christ of the Nations to pursue his passion for theology. After many years their marriage ended and this led him to meeting Donna in 1993 and marrying in 1995.  Tony’s time in the business world included working in IT for EDS and almost 25 years with American General- US Life and finishing his career with Bank of America.  After retiring from the corporate world, Tony worked 4 years as a Plano Independent School District bus driver and enjoyed his time with the children he came in contact with.

In his personal time, Tony loved many things among which were: playing golf, bridge, gardening, grilling/ cooking (Famous Meat Dressing), traveling, being with family and friends and of course his football TV time. Red Lobster and Mexican food were some of his favorites. He was a member of the Collin County Republican Men’s Group.

Tony’s main focus on activities involved serving the Lord and others. At Fellowship Bible Church he took part in the Prayer Room, Hospital Visitations, Stephen Ministry, Fellowship Serves, Masters Class, Men’s Group and several others. For several years Tony participated in a weekly Bible Study at CRUMC. Together, Tony and Donna belonged to two Community Groups (one for over 25 years) where they learned more about their Christian walk.  Volunteering with Loaves of Love was also a place of service.

Tony was simply a Man of God – caring and loving, leaving those he encountered touched forever.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of twenty-three years, Donna Krauss and all of their grown children. Tony had four: Michael Krauss, Leesa Boudreaux (Roy), Audra Preston (Wayne) and Sara Tusant (Jeremy). Donna’s two children are Kim Follis (John) and Richard Elias. There are 14 grandchildren: Picabo, Aday and Myka Krauss; Bubba and Jaque Boudreaux; Sam (Erinn), Magee-Lee and Chase Preston; Nathan, Kathryn, Gabe and Camille Tusant. The Tusants’ also currently have two foster children – Chance and Ayden. Kim Follis (John) are parents to Connor and Mackenzie Follis.  Living siblings include: Kaaren Barker, Madeline Morgan, Rhonda Caldwell and Kym Krauss Mathews.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents (Eugene Anthony Krauss & Anna Maria Dinkla) and one grandson, Solomon Tusant.
