Anita Kay Williams

Anita Williams, known by her friends and family as "Kay" or “Momma Kay”, was the eldest daughter of Air Force Senior Master Sergeant Clue Hammons and her mother Loretta. She and her family of three girls and one boy moved to various places, including Louisiana, Texas, Hawaii, and Missouri in a way typical of the challenging life of military families. During one of her father's assignments in Missouri she met Charles Williams, known to family and friends as "Chuck," who was also the son of a career Air Force Senior Master Sergeant. Chuck and Kay were married in 1970 and also lived the itinerant life of a military family throughout a Navy career, finally adopting Celina, Texas as their first true "home town."

Kay loved children of all ages and circumstances and she demonstrated that love for many years in churches across the country by serving families, teaching preschoolers and blessing their young lives with her love of Jesus Christ. Her home was always a magnet for children and teenagers who loved her kindness and warmth. She made sure that everyone who came into her home was made to feel safe and valued (and she gave them good food).

Kay began her health struggle with complications from surgery in 2006. That struggle grew in intensity with each passing year until September 20, 2026, the day she stood in the presence of Christ, whole and well. Throughout that long struggle Kay never stopped smiling and never stopped loving her Lord. She demonstrated that love by the way she loved and served. It was her smile, her mischievous sense of humor, her simple but strong faith in God, and her unrestrained grace that will always make us smile as we remember "Momma Kay".

Kay is survived by her husband, Charles Williams and her two daughters, and their families Cherie Elizabeth and Timothy Andrew McAdoo and Rebecca Lynn and Kevin Leland Parsons as well as seven grandchildren and two great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her father Clue Edwin Hammons, her mother Loretta Elizabeth Hammons, her brother David Edwin Hammons and her sister Ida Mae Dalton.

There will be a funeral service to celebrate Kay's life and her new life with Christ at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 2, 2026, at Prestonwood North Baptist Church, Prosper, Texas.

Kay will be laid to rest at Ft Gibson National Cemetery, Muskogee, Oklahoma.
