Anita Marie (Biagioni) Campbell

September 25, 1957 — January 14, 2026

Plano, Texas

Anita Marie Biagioni Campbell of Plano, Texas passed away peacefully at her home on January 14, 2026, surrounded by family. Anita’s life was defined by kindness, faith, and devotion to the people she loved. Even through a 14-year battle with Parkison’s Disease and a 2-year battle with cancer, Anita’s faith never wavered. She met each challenge with quiet strength, peace, and an abiding trust in God’s plan. Her family and close friends could not be more proud of Anita or more in awe of her incredible spirit.

She was born September 25, 1957, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Anita was the daughter of Louis and Joan Biagioni. She spent most of her early years in Iowa City, Iowa, before moving to Bloomington, Indiana. Anita attended Indiana University where she received a BS in Accounting from the Kelley School of Business and at the beginning of her senior year, met her husband, Frank Campbell. They have been blessed to spend the last 47 years together.

Anita had a successful career in the finance/accounting industry. She began her career in 1979 as a CPA at Deloitte in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Dallas in 1981. Over the next 22 years, Anita received recognition and was highly respected as an audit manager and eventually as CAO and Senior VP of Finance at Walden Residential Properties (and their successors). Anita was involved in several corporate mergers, taking the company public and then later taking the company private, and managing the accounting department. One of the accomplishments Anita was most proud of was her relationship with her associates and staff. Her expertise and regard for others were just two of the many reasons Anita was so admired by her colleagues.

After retirement, Anita continued with several consulting assignments and found happiness in spending more time with loved ones and pursuing other passions like puzzles, scrapbooking, playing games, and holiday decorating. She was legendary with her extensive Halloween displays and numerous themed Christmas trees. Anita took gift giving to a new level and shopped throughout the year for the perfect items to share. Her home decor reflected her priorities including countless photographs of loved ones and meaningful places she traveled.

Over the last 30 years, Anita focused her energy on tennis, winning over 30 singles, doubles, and mixed doubles championships. Anita especially loved playing TCD, Metro, and Love 50 tennis with her friends. Anita captained several teams, including the last couple of years when she was no longer able to play. She loved her tennis teammates and enjoyed their time together on and off the court. In 2024, Bent Tree honored Anita by establishing the Anita Campbell Excellence (ACE) Award celebrating Anita’s positive attitude, strong character, and effort. The ACE award is presented annually to the team members who best exemplify Anita's competitive spirit, sportsmanship, and love of tennis. In 2025, Bent Tree further honored Anita with a lifetime achievement award as the Best Team Captain. Anita was humbled by these well-deserved honors.

Anita’s favorite happy place was Disney World. The kindness, love and joy of the Disney spirit perfectly reflect how Anita lived her life. Some of Anita’s happiest times were spent at Disney World with her husband Frank, their niece Jessica and her mom Merrilee. Most summers during Jessica’s childhood were highlighted by their annual Disney World vacation. Anita also loved attending tennis tournaments with her husband Frank and their dear friends Martha and Doug Morris. They were blessed to attend the Miami Open annually for decades and the Australian Open in 2020. Anita also loved their vacations in Colorado, Hawaii and Paris.

The family takes great comfort in knowing that Anita has been reunited with her father, Louis Biagioni, her grandparents, her father-in-law, mother-in-law, and other special family members and friends in heaven.

She is survived by her husband Frank Campbell, devoted mother, Joan Biagioni, and beloved siblings Diane Biagioni, Peter Biagioni (Leslie), Carla Brown (Darrell), David Biagioni (Michelle), eight nieces and nephews, including Jessica Biagioni Howard (Ryan) who was like a daughter to Anita, five great nieces and nephews, brother-in-law, Craig Campbell (Loann), sister-in-law, Cindy Campbell and the Sterrett family. Anita was a devoted godmother to their 12 godchildren. Anita’s love touched many others, far too many to name, but each held a special place in her heart.

Anita’s legacy is one of grace, kindness, inclusion, and faith in the goodness of others. She brought joy to those around her through her thoughtfulness, and ever-positive spirit and possessed a rare gift for making each person in her presence feel uniquely appreciated. Anita will be forever cherished by her family and friends who became family as she was an incredible and inspirational blessing to all who knew her.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who lovingly cared for Anita including Barbie Boe, Craig and Loann Campbell, Alan and Merrilee Carruthers, Kristen Qualls and her siblings especially her sister, Carla, who lovingly moved from her Indiana home to be by Anita’s side the last two years.

A memorial mass will be held for Anita at 11:00 a.m., Thursday January 29, 2026, at Prince of Peace Catholic Community Church. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Saint Andrew Methodist Church Columbarium.
