AliceAnne “Ali” passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2026, after a lifetime battle with respiratory challenges. Up until the end, AliceAnne was talking with friends, reading the newspaper and spending time with her beloved husband Ron of 71 years. She remained clear minded, sharp, and wanting to discuss current events with us all.
AliceAnne was born near Duluth Minnesota and spent her early years there. She was blessed to have two sisters - Audrey and Ruth. They lived in town but also had a cabin near a lake. AliceAnne met her husband Ron one evening while out with girlfriends under “the big clock” in Duluth. They were married on January 1, 1955, and had a lifetime of happiness.
AliceAnne graduated from the University of Minnesota at Duluth with a degree in Social Work. She worked in the field for a couple years. While helping Ron get a PhD, they moved around northern Minnesota and North Dakota. After Ron’s graduation, they settled in Fergus Falls and began their family life. AliceAnne and Ron had four children. Brian, who tragically passed away in December 2024, Kathy, Kiara and baby Lisa passed away as an infant.
The couple moved to Toronto, Ontario in 1967. As AliceAnne always did, she made friends who she keeps to this day. AliceAnne went into business with her best friend June. They began their enterprise as Safari the Gift Hunters but morphed into a company that searched for and supplied restaurants with unusual decor.
The family moved to Dallas, Texas in 1977 and found a true home! They have lived in only two homes over the past almost 50 years and found their real home in Allen in Twin Creeks. Ali was active in tennis for a while, in book clubs, played bridge weekly for many years and always read extensively.
Our dear AliceAnne is survived by her loving husband Ron, her daughters Kathy and Kiara, her grandchildren Jonathan, Matthew, Joshua and Amanda, by her two great grandchildren Marley and Shepherd, and many nieces and nephews. Ali will be greatly missed!!
