Alex Rosenblum

Alex Jay Rosenblum, age 59, of Coppell, Texas passed away on May 1, 2022, in his memory care facility.

Alex was born in Orlando, Florida on March 11, 1963. His family moved to Richardson, Texas where he graduated from J. J. Pearce High School. He attended The University of North Texas and later earned a BS in Nursing from Texas Women’s University. He worked as a dialysis nurse and later worked at the End Stage Renal Disease Network of Texas helping to improve the quality of care of dialysis patients. Alex moved on to work at Fresenius Medical Care educating and developing best practices for quality care of patients across the US.

Alex was diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia which led to his retirement from the field of nursing that was such a passion for him. During his retirement he was a volunteer with Metrocrest Services delivering meals to senior citizens in the area. He was also an active member in the Lions Club of Coppell, Texas, regularly volunteering for numerous Lions Club’s events often dressed as the Lion mascot. He loved traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Alex is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marian Rosenblum; his daughter Jill and sisters Ronna Schmoker and Dana Yarborough and brother Michael Rosenblum. He was preceded in death by his father Kalman Rosenblum and his mother Roslyn Rosenblum.

Per Alex’s wishes, the family has donated his brain for research to UT Southwestern Brain Institute to further the study of Primary Progressive Aphasia and Frontotemporal Dementia.
